The Chronicles of Aurora

All the shades of evil

Seattle, Washington is one of those places where you stand out if you carry an umbrella. Austin Fox is not from Seattle, but neither does he carry an umbrella, so no one's to know he's not from the city. In reality, he's not from the world at all. Fresh out of Siren Academy and broke, Austin Fox weaves his solitary way through the grimy city, eagerly awaiting opportunities to help his home. When he's chosen as the right hand of one of the most powerful figures in his world and magical civil war looms on the horizon, Austin must find a way to balance his new duties and his growing love for the human world he leaves behind in order to protect both his homes from the enemy. But as the conflict escalates and truths reveal themselves, he may find that the war he once considered black and white is not as clear-cut as he supposed.

Younger saints

Seven years have passed since the Gate War ended and King Austin of Aurora was crowned. The country has been at peace, though that means nothing to Emery, the magicless son of the great hero Ashworth Addison. Living in the human world and struggling with personal challenges, Emery believes he can at least be sure of his opinion of the kings. Frustrated with his lot in life and holding his grudges tight, Emery leaps at the opportunity to take magic for himself, a choice that reveals a plot and sends Ashworth Addison's unknown son hurtling into the complex web of Aurorian politics and social class, where he must reevaluate everything he thought he knew. As he navigates his new, hard-won world and the colorful cast of people he meets, Emery may find that the plot runs deeper than anything he expected, perhaps even threatening the world he now holds so dear.

This tarnished crown

The Solomon Family used to rule Aurora. The emergence of the Council ended that, leaving the once-royal family outlaws in the land they once governed. Over a century since the end of the monarchy, Aldrich Solomon, last of the Solomon line, has lived his life surrounded and watched from all sides. Finished with his sixth and last year at Siren Academy, Aldrich, heart burning for adventure, sets out in search of it. When it comes in the form of a mysterious pirate ship built unlike anything he's ever seen, Aldrich is determined not to let it slip away. What follows is an adventure beyond Aldrich's wildest dreams, which takes him far beyond Outura and Siren, out into open, myth-filled ocean full of pirates and bounty hunters, cards and charts, coins and canvas. But the young, would-be king has to run fast to outpace the Council, and his crewmates have dangerous secrets of their own. If they are not careful, they may find themselves losing not only their stolen freedom, but their lives.

Before the marble cracks

Liris Academy has a reputation for producing glossy future politicians, and Ashworth Addison is everyone's top choice. Surrounded by his reputation as the bright and wickedly smart Darling of the academy, Ashworth enters his seventh year eager to cement his place as Junior Council Delegate and properly reveal himself as a player in his Family's political arena. Much to his surprise, his biggest challenge may come in the form of the quieter and more severe Lyon Starr, also a seventh-year and just as ambitious. The halls and podiums and chess boards become their first battle grounds, and as they spar for the highest scores and the slot as junior Council member, they and their friends gradually become closer, forming a deadly team that rocks Liris with its potential. But Ashworth and Lyon are still rivals, and as results come in and dynamics change, both within their group and in the world beyond, they may learn the hard way just how dangerous it is to love your enemy.

About Penelope

Penelope Stargazer was a name given by my mom when my grandmother insisted that I be named before I was born. Needless to say, my grandmother was not amused.
A lifelong resident of Vashon Island, Washington, I am now a University of Washington student studying political science and philosophy.
